Granddaddy Purple (also known as Grand Daddy Purps) is an Indica strain with a sweet berry aroma and a grape aftertaste. With deep and dark purple blooms surrounded by vivid orange hairs and a wealth of white trichomes, it's a remarkable strain.

Purple Urkle and Big Bud, its parents, are both Indica strains. This variety looks strikingly similar to Grape Ape, and tradition has it that the two are related. However, it was first created in 2003 by Ken Estes in California when he decided he wished to create a new and remarkable indica using two strains that were already renowned for their effects.

Its THC content is typically 17 percent, with some strains reaching 23 percent. Grand Daddy Purple provides a euphoric mood in the head by creating a very soothing body buzz. This strain is best used at night since it is a wonderful choice for assisting sleep and reducing body stress.
