Principal Financial Officer & Corporate Secretary

About

Bernie is the Principal Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of MJ Holdings, Inc. Prior to joining MJ Bernie had an approximately 20-year run as a founder and COO/CFO of a group of privately held hotel companies that included Vantage Hospitality Group, Inc, Cal-Vegas, Ltd and Thirty-Eight Street, Inc. These companies were primarily involved in Franchising, Hotel Management and Hotel Operations, respectively. The brands within the Franchising company grew to be the 10th largest hotel brand in the country and, in 2016 the brands were sold to Red Lion Hotel Corporation. Bernie then became COO of that publicly traded (RLHC, OTC Pink) company for approximately two years during the transition followed by a two-year consulting agreement. Prior to joining the hotel companies, Moyle practiced commercial law for 18 years and was Managing Partner at Benson, Moyle, Mucci LLP in Fort Lauderdale. Moyle also has a wide range of experience in government relations, tourism and economic development as he has held several posts for the City of Coral Springs (FL) including Chairman of the Board for the Economic Development Foundation, Vice Chair of the Community Redevelopment Authority and twice Chair of the City’s Charter Review Committee. During his time serving Coral Springs, he helped attract more than 50 new businesses to the area, creating thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in positive economic impact. Bernie has also served as a member of the board of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, both State (FL) and Broward County (Fort Lauderdale) and is a past Co-Chair of the Tourism Committee of the Broward (FL) Workshop. Bernie’s well-rounded experience provides insight into management for third parties as well as the concerns, needs and interests of all stakeholders: owners, lenders, vendors and employees. In addition to a long list of projects over many years, current projects of note include holding a seat on the advisory board of Accessible Home Health Care, a privately held home health care franchising company with approximately 125 franchised locations and, as an investor and owner’s representative, overseeing operations and the conversion of a 323 room, 40,000 sq ft, full service hotel in Jacksonville, FL to a Marriott Delta Hotel & Conference Center. Bernie is the Managing Partner and President of The Country Club of Coral Springs, an 18-hole, par 71 Championship Golf Course and Country Club located in Coral Springs, FL., where he has overseen the construction of new facilities: Clubhouse, Cart Barn and attendant facilities and the renovation of the golf course (the “front acreage” of this project was originally slated to be a hotel development site prior to the great recession; in 2015 the project was pivoted such that the front acreage was redeveloped as a 255 unit apartment project with the course then being redeveloped and a new clubhouse built). Moyle holds a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University, Salisbury, MD and Juris Doctor from Shepard Board School of Law at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale/Davie, FL where he was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni of the Year and is a former treasurer and president of the alumni association.
